Prevent Bloating – What Relieves Bloating Fast?

Bloating is unattractive, uncomfortable, and undesirable in every way. Luckily, there are some easy ways you can prevent bloating. Instead of eating these 3 things, try our suggestions!

  • Carbonated Drinks⇒ Water

Carbonated drinks like soda, seltzer, and even natural beverages like kombucha, have air bubbles. They go to your belly and can cause bloating. There is nothing wrong with enjoying non-caloric club soda or probiotic-filled kombucha sometimes, but avoid it when you want your belly to look flat for the beach or a party. Water is the best beverage to drink all day. Not only can it help you lose weight, getting enough water and potassium will help flush out sodium and reduce bloat.

  • Gum ⇒ Raw Veggies or Nuts

When you chew gum, you swallow air, which causes intestinal bloating. If you need to chew on something, try some raw unsalted sunflower or pumpkin seeds. If you want to keep it low calorie, munch on some raw celery or bell pepper slices.

  • Sugar Alcohols ⇒ Natural Sugars

While sugar alcohols can be a way to keep calories low, they can cause gas, bloating and GI distress. Erythritol causes the least GI distress, but just in case, avoid sugar alcohols when you want to keep bloat down. If you really want something sweet, just have a small portion of what you are really craving, and eat it mindfully.

If you can, use natural sugars. Try making a nutritious smoothie, which could satisfy your sweet tooth while providing important nutrients, especially potassium, which balances sodium to reduce bloating.
